I know I’ve said I will be really busy, but I just can’t help it – I need to make this slug! Isn’t it adorable? I have real soft spot for mollusks, and this one seems like a quick make, so I’m gonna try and squeeze it in somewhere 🙂
I started using Instagram a while ago, and while I was sceptical of yet another social site/network thing, I quickly realized that I really like it. It’s like Twitter, but with pictures 🙂 Text is optional, but tags help if you want your pictures seen by others. You just use hashtags like on Twitter. Took me a while to figure that out 😛
Anyway, if you want to follow me, my username is Hattalahutta, like almost everywhere else. Also, if you decide to follow me, you might even get sneak peeks at whatever craftiness I’m working on. Plus a lot of other random things of course 🙂
So I changed up my blog a little. Again 🙂 I wanted a neater look without all the distracting things in the sidebar, and also a layout where you don’t have to scroll for ages to get to the bottom of the sidebar. So I put some of the less important stuff at the bottom of the page to make room for a blogroll, if I decide to have one.
I’ve added a few more pages, that you’ll find in the header area, next to the blog title. These pages act as shortcuts to my patterns, with pictures of every pattern I’ve published, plus links to both my shops and my free pattern blog. Just to make it easier to navigate this place 🙂 You can still find everything I’ve written about the patterns in separate posts, just look through the categories in the sidebar to the right.
I’m going to see if I can find a nice picture to use as a header image, and maybe also one for the background, but for now you’ll have to tolerate the bright contrasting colors 😛
Hi! I moved my craft blog over here from Blogger because I had some issues with the platform. I’d been thinking about it for a long time, and last night I finally had enough and did it. I had written a pretty long blog post and was just doing some small changes before publishing. I made a mistake, so I clicked the Undo button, which deleted all content from my post. And of course there was no way of getting it back. To say I was angry would be a gross understatement. So here we are 🙂
I’m going to keep this blog a lot simpler and cleaner than the original. The amount of tags alone was driving me mad, not to mention the cluttered sidebars. Stuff like links and info about my patterns will be put on separate pages (just below the header), and I’m going to get rid of most of my post tags. Categories will hopefully be a bit easier to navigate, with the hierarchical menu.
All my old blogs will remain on Blogger, for several reasons:
One, all my followers are there and I don’t expect them to sign up for WordPress just to be able to comment more easily. Not that I get that many comments, but you know. I will probably be double-posting on my old craft blog for a while, so there’s no need to worry 🙂 I will just post here first, so I have a backup if Blogger decides to go blip on me again.
Two, there is bound to be some stuff on my old blogs that didn’t make the move over here, like my blogroll and some of the stuff in the sidebar, so I would suggest that any new WP readers hop over there and take a look 🙂
Three, my craft blog is linked to my Ravelry account, and as far as I can tell, there is no option for that with WordPress. Also, my pattern blog is linked on all my patterns in the Ravelry database, and I really don’t want to change them all (again).
So my main craft blog, my tatting blog and Bollan’s blog all have new urls here on WordPress. Permanent links will be posted shortly 🙂 The other blogs that I post to less frequently will stay where they are. My pattern blog could probably be moved, but one of my main motivations for moving is that posting from my phone is just so much easier with the WordPress app. And one thing I don’t want to be doing, is typing up long crochet patterns on my phone. So there 😛
